Fine-art portrait photography captured at Muriwai beach, Auckland, New Zealand

"I think your capture of nature, particularly the sea that is so moody and powerful, is wonderfully uplifting"

Ph.D, ARPS, APSNZ
I’m a mixed media artist, chiefly working in digital image. Originally from the UK, I've been living and working in Auckland as a professional microscopist, photographer and videographer for over 6 years.
In my artwork, I create original images filled with emotion: contemporary portraiture and landscapes, particularly seascapes. My art has gained a national audience within Aotearoa-New Zealand as part of several exhibitions, books and magazines, and international publications. Pieces are held in the New Zealand Maritime Museum, the McGregor Museum, and private collections.

FATHOM (2023) was my debut solo exhibition at Lake House Arts Centre and part of the Auckland Festival of Photography 20th anniversary program. I have taken part in the festival multiple times over the years, including a group exhibition, Disrupted, in 2022 and a digitally-displayed exhibition, Positive Disintegration, in 2021.
I will hold my second solo exhibition, DWELL, in March (2024) at 250 Gallery in Ponsonby. This will be my first public showcase of mixed media artworks and moving image, stepping away from photography.
Developing my practice is important to me. I'm currently creating my final major project as I work towards a Masters in Fine Art. I hold an associate-level honours with both the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and the Photographic Society of New Zealand (APSNZ).
